Band : Horn

Hundreds of soaring, full melodies can be attributed to the french horn. The horn is unique among the brass family in that its bell faces backwards. This has the effect of making the sound seem as if it is far away—perfect for romantic visions and aspirations of the future.

Unlike the trumpet and other brass instruments, the french horn is played with the left hand pushing the valves that create individual notes. Some marching bands may use mellophones instead of french horns, which have the same pitch and fingering, but are made with a “bell front” configuration.

Jent’s offers french horn models of all skill levels from the following brands:

  • Conn
  • Holton
  • Yamaha
  • Jupiter
  • Besson
